About Us

Like most entrepreneurs, David and Ruth Dommert were simply hoping to start a successful business when they opened the doors at DRD Machine in the early 90s. Through the good times and bad they've endured…developing a reputation in the community as time went by for their great service and friendly staff. For many years, Ruth's late father John Anderson was DRD Machine's goodwill ambassador following his retirement from the military, welcoming customers with a smile and friendly greeting while serving in his role as self-appointed crew chief. That's what you'd expect from a man who was also a crew chief with the Air Force during WWII…where he was responsible for keeping B-17's and SR-71 RECON Speedsters in the air. John's memory and work ethic live on today at the shop, where on any given day you'll find Dave doing what he loves…working on motorcycles. He handles all the machining and cylinder boring done there and is also the one who can figure out problems with things that seem to stump other people. Ruth is equally skilled at what she does, handling all of the office duties that include keeping the books, paying the bills, placing the orders for parts and other essential products and generally keeping the wheels turning. Longtime employee Jeff Teague handles anything and everything that needs to be done …answering the phone; loading equipment; changing tires…you name it and he's probably done it here since joining the staff, where he's become an indispensable member of the team. Dave and Ruth are also appreciative of several former employees who helped them grow the business during their time there, as well as a supportive community in Parker County that has turned DRD Machine into one the region's largest ATV and Motorcycle Repair facilities.
